I imagine it was lifted when he became a private citizen in 2017.
The President is Chief of State. He needs no clearance.

(17,530 posts)There are all kinds of petty roadblocks the loser could try to throw in the path of the winner. I fully expect Trump to act like a petulant child; that is Trump. It changes nothing, Biden will be the next President and Trump does not need to endanger the country over temper tantrums.
One of the great thing about the American government is the long-standing tradition of peaceful and efficient transfer of power. Trump should not be changing that tradition. He needs to put on his big boy pants and act like the President of the United States of America, not some South American dictator.
The fact of life, in our country, is that politics have always rested on a pendulum. It swings right and then it swings left, with the average being in the sweet spot center of the swing. This is nothing new, and the day will come when it swings back. We do not need to be rewriting our destiny to serve the interests of one individual.
To answer your question directly. Biden will be briefed on secret material. Our security depends on it.

(17,862 posts)Here is a website that summarizes the legislation. On the other hand it comes down to the term President-elect. I think the earliest you can say we have an official "President-elect" is once the vote totals are certified by the states to get to 270. If you really want to play hardball, it could be until the EVs are actually counted.
Post-Election (if there is a change in administration)
On the day following the election, GSA begins to provide office space and support services to the president-elect and Vice President-elect, with support continuing up to 60 days after inauguration
A classified summary regarding national security is given to the president-elect as soon as possible after the election
30 days before the expiration of the term, GSA begins support to outgoing president and vice president, with support continuing for 7 months total

(7,510 posts)Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden received his first classified intelligence briefing on Wednesday in Wilmington, a source familiar with the briefing confirmed to CBS News.
The briefing, led by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), was separate from the ongoing election security briefings provided by Bill Evanina, the director of the United States National Counterintelligence and Security Center.
"The ODNI provides intelligence briefings to the candidates for president and vice president, consistent with established practice since 1952," an agency spokesperson told CBS News in a statement.

Any indication that the briefings have stopped?
