New York Daily NewsThe Green Party of New York is feeling blue but vowing to fight on after failing to get enough votes in the presidential election to remain on the ballot in the Empire State.
An election law overhaul related to New Yorks soon-to-be-implemented public matching funds program significantly increased the threshold needed for parties to retain their line on the state ballot ― a blow to a liberal third parties.
According to the new rules, a party must garner either 130,000 votes or 2% of the total votes cast, whichever is higher, to maintain its status.

(6,904 posts)I am sick of politicians first challenging Democrats in the primary and then running in the general election as a member of a minority party.
It makes me wonder which side they are on.
The Working Families party seems to run the Democrats that they endorse on their ballot. It is less important to see them gone.

2) Run candidates in at least 50% of county or lower offices.
3) Run candidates in at least 1/3 of state level offices.
4) Run candidates in at least 1/3 of U.S. House seat.
5) Run a candidate for U.S. Senate at least once every 6 years.
in addition to the votes cast in an election requirement.
