I just found out my 80 year old Father has Covid

He lives in a nursing home 900 miles away and we have not been able to see him since Feb. So far he is asymptomatic.

If they need anyone to drag trump out of the WH on inauguration day, I will happily volunteer.

My Father in Law, is also very sick with pancreatic cancer. We were seeing him every month. That stopped because of Covid. We did go last month because of a medical emergency. trump's action regarding Covid have denied us valuable time with our loved ones, when they need us the most.

Fuck trump

but there is a reason he is in a nursing home. I just wish he had chosen to live with us, but he didn't want to move out of state.

Healing vibes on the way! 💗💗💗

At least, thus far, he doesn't have symptoms! Keeping fingers crossed!

Are they giving him any meds or supplements for covid?

So sorry about your FIL, too.

Awful that precious time with loved ones stolen by chumputin!

Ha! They could wipe out national debt selling tickets to drag him out of our WH, or even to watch online!

I'm sorry you have that worry. Best wishes to your father.

And I'm so sorry you haven't been able to see your father-in-law. That's just heartbreaking.

This is a lot for you to deal with, and I understand your anger and feelings of helplessness.

I hope you get to see them soon, and they both make successful recoveries.

What a horrible thing to hear, especially since he is so far away. I hope they are able to keep him healthy and that you will be able to see him again soon.

My 81 y/o father was released from the hospital two weeks ago after battling COVID. He has high BP, Type II Diabetes and Parkinson's. He was able to get Remdesivir, and went from being on Oxygen to walking out two days later. I believe it saved him. I hope your Dad responds well to treatment! Sending big love and hugs!

Hugs to you. I’m glad he is asymptomatic. But still, it’s so damn tragic. I hope your father in law is getting palliative care.

Is it an outbreak? Or an isolated infection? --- Have they been able to contact-trace it to a specific outing, visitor, or staff member?

They test staff and patients as needed and at random. If a staff member feels sick, they are told not work until their test result comes in and pay them anyhow. A few test positive every month and immediate action is taken. There have not been large outbreaks.

it is so hard to contact trace in that environment. Therapists, RNs, NAs, DRs, Kitchen staff, janitorial, security, orderlies, secretarial, social workers, and patients.

is 89 and father, who is 91, are in a nursing home and they had Covid (early September) and both survived. My dad did get pneumonia, but like I said he survived and is doing well. I am able to visit with them by way of FaceTime once a week since early April. This nursing home has done their best to keep family in touch with their loved ones. I hope your father does well like my parents did. By the way, my parents are not the picture of health, yet they survived.
I so agree with you that trump has cost us valuable time with our elderly family members.

And your father-in-law's pancreatic cancer.

My father died last week of pancreatic cancer, so I can vouch for the fact that COVID really has made everything worse. Especially things that are already too hard.

Yeah, fuck Trump, and every one of his despicable enablers.
