McConnel, though evil to the core, realizes Trump is dead meat. Mitch is already currently sitting pretty with his leadership probably safe and he's got SCOTUS 6-3, so he doesn't want Trump to fuck it up for him. So, he summons Barr to discuss what are the options to convince The Fool to tone it down and concede.
