Almost a week after Election Day, Gwinnett County is officially done counting more than 416,000 votes.
The Gwinnett County Board of Voter Registration and Elections met Monday morning to approve provisional ballots, which are votes cast on paper when a voter cannot be found on a polling places voter roll or does not have proper identification. Those who cast provisional ballots must cure them by presenting proof of address or ID.
Of 935 provisional ballots cast, 669 were approved by the board Monday and added to Georgias total vote count. Once the final ballots were counted and submitted to the state, the board certified the election results, formally bringing the count to a close.
Gwinnetts transit referendum was still incredibly close when the vote count was complete. No slightly led, with 50.13% of the vote just 1,013 votes ahead of Yes. READ MORE from Gwinnett

(53,342 posts)Remember, FL had 1 million MORE votes in 2000 than GA does in 2020 and only a few hundred vote change was the result of the "shortened" recount

(45,540 posts)Biden's campaign must have gone hard for GA and Arizona plus the upper midwest states. It's very interesting how states evolve over time for various reasons.
Now if we can pass some voter rights protections to fight suppression, more supposedly red states might become purple.

(28,811 posts)i was one of them. GA blue? nah. i had grave doubts about AZ.
but what really sucks is that I thought the state where i live, NC, WOULD go blue. it's likely that the USPS interference impacted the outcome here, but it also sucks that it was even close. very disappointed, and very happy for GA and AZ.

(19,118 posts)The margin is big enough that there's zero ways for the outcome to change. Georgia is over, it's Blue.

Kemp and Raffensperger are getting an earful from the Georgia GOP far right.
They're no doubt twisting his arm to get him to appoint Trump electors.

(21,408 posts)the voting is over, it affects nothing to call it. Biden won pending a recount will suffice for me.
Color the state blue.
