there needs to be civic information ads run on TV and online

So many americans have no clue how congress works, how elections are run, what are the powers of the president, those of congress, etc...

A prime example is mail in vote. Nowhere have I seen ads clearly explaining to people why its ridiculous to believe that sonehow ballot boxes were stuffed with ballots from China.

We on DU follow politics and are well informed so we know they are tracked and if you are shown to have voted, you wont be able to have more ballots counted in your name.

Yet many trumpers are so dumb they believe it.

Likewise on our side people enraged at the senate or congress in general because we could not remove Trump or stop judges nominations. They think its because our representatives and senators dont fight. Truth is, elections matters.

I have a college graduate relative who has been posting crap about how Pelosi and Biden didn't pass a Covid law. I'm amazed how people who really should know better resort to lazy uninformed thinking about things. I also think it's really imperative for those who are leading the charge in the Georgia runoffs to really define Socialism. The constant drone of that boogeyman IMO really frightens people who just don't understand or care to educate themselves about these kinds of things.

there are many models of socialism, ranging from revolutionary communism to gradualist democratic socialism
primarily, it exists as a label for a wide variety of "leftward" critiques of capitalism
one of the great successes of the rwnj media machine has been to treat socialism as a singular demonic entity
unraveling that cultural knot would require more educational tv than most are willing to consume

Do you think that Democratic Candidate wants the government to take over private industry? Yes or No

Are you aware that the United States is the only developed country without a Healthcare system that covers all it's citizens for a reasonable cost

Do you want your tax dollars to go towards benefiting the citizens of the United States and uphold the Constitutions mandate to provide for the general welfare and safety of the citizens

I'm sure there are many others...but I usually stop people in their tracks with their socialism screeds on social media with the first question.

And while I agree that the models of socialism are more complicated there are ways to keep things basic and simple. It's worked for the GOP in framing their "anti-big-government" mantra. Remember, you are smart, informed and understand nuance....Most people are not paying attention to these kinds of things so much and choose to just go along with their "team color" because it's easier.

Along with making damn sure that FDR Policies are very well known and which Party was responsible that led to the GREAT USA, while the other Party has always tried to hurt/kill those policies.
