"SNIP.....
Joe Bidens transition team is warning that it may take legal action if the General Services Administration fails to make an official determination that Joe Biden has won the election, Axios reports.

Floundering around with strongly worded letters wouldn't be a good look.

(12,236 posts)You can't call the WH "litigation addicts", or whatever you're calling them in this regard, in one breath, then announce a major lawsuit with the next.

(20,453 posts)evidence. The other simply wants the GSA to do what it has done regularly after every election when the outcome is clear, and hasn't even filed a lawsuit yet.
Not all lawsuits are equally merited.

(17,593 posts)Yep - the "nut" of it all right there:
RePugs are reaching for straws, "nutso" theories, and strawberry ponies with their piling on at the doors of the courts.
Dems are asking that the "accepted practices" be continued, if not enforced.
BIG DIFFERENCE!!!!

(43,292 posts)Writ of mandemas
snip
A writ of mandamus is a court order compelling someone to execute a duty that they are legally obligated to complete. A writ is also used to order a lower court or government agency to complete a duty to uphold the law or to correct an abuse of discretion.
snip
I've done it myself a time or two.

(2,591 posts)Do. I am not a lawyer so I do not know the ramifications of legal actions but just from a simple arithmetic POV. Everywhere that DT admin is blocking transition take whatever legal action can be taken. Make DT eat up $ & resources defending the obstruction instead of putting that $ & resource to getting legal ballots tossed. The Dems need to fight fire with fire.

(7,663 posts)I hope they are all printing their resumés. This is what Trumpism has done, it turns people insolent, disrespectful, and rude.
And this is the guy they try to convince us was sent by God to fulfill Jesuss mission of peace and love thy neighbor? Just me, but thats not the way Id do it.

(14,709 posts)Not saying Biden should not, but jeez there must be a lot of lawyers getting fat in Washington, on both sides.
So many suits, then appeals, then new suits, appeals.......on every move. That's all Trump does.
Do legislators, who are made up of a lot of lawyers themselves, add to the mix new laws that give lawyers even more avenues to appeal or counter sue? Seems like its possible.

(23,430 posts)The GOP knows there's no way out now. This will either be the last election in the United States or they go down now. They're all guilty of sedition in their coup. They're done with democracy. PERIOD.
