6. Networks called either Michigan or Wisconsin for Trump in 2016 when the margin was less than 10K.

Is there some stupid policy at NBC or CNN to prevent calling Georgia when the lead is bigger than the votes left to count?

7. That's not true. You call the state even if it looks like there'll be a recount.

Because you take the figures you do have in front of you as 100% valid until it is proved otherwise.

19. And unrealistic. One win in each does not make either blue.

Really wish it did. When we moved here from CA 20 years ago, after GA helped elect Clinton, I thought we were part of a wave of permanent change that was winning. Instead, we've had to live through a horrendous backlash and badslide as the worst of deep-red conservative southern culture took over the Republican Party, and with it the conservative half of the nation, and corrupted churches that should teach right and wrong but turned to teaching divisive politics.

It's going to take a while longer, and the great hope isn't that GA is always "formerly" red, that isn't realistic, but that it become politically fairly decent and sensible, dominated by moderate progressives of both conservative and liberal orientations.

Btw, did you know that hot climates tend to make people and cultures more conservative? Look at a political map of the globe. The same for any climate that endangers survival, such as deserts and very cold ones. Our South is hot and getting hotter. The whole planet's getting hotter and fresh water is disappearing.

We've got our work cut out for us.

Have a nice day.

It should be certified in 11 days. Then there can be a recount. It will not shift to Trump.

I wish GA would provide a number we all can use as a reference.

15. GA is Blue in Atlanta Metro, Savannah, Albany and a few others.

2018 it expanded to Cobb County with election of Lucy McBath and this year into Gwinnett County. But outside those areas, it’s rube as far as you can see.

Fortunately, the big population areas are reliably Blue, but more like a 60/40 split.

stay out of Forsyth County into early 1970s, except the signs didn’t say “Blacks.”

Today, the county is becoming more diverse and younger white folks are much more liberal and caring about society. Answer to your question is Yes, but not for awhile.

When I was in high school, Gwinnett was pretty much dirt roads. Things are changing and it’s so nice to see. A lot of folks I went to school (rural DeKalb County at the time) with are still ignorant rubes. But surprisingly, several I would have expected otherwise, are Blue.
