Whatever happened to checking the queue before starting a new thread? (Shit & Fuck)

Yes, we were all surprised when Ken Delanian dropped the S and F bombs on MSNBC this morning. But did that really warrant twelve separate threads on the subject, some posted over an hour after the first threads went up?

Lazy members. Check the queue.

It took me more time dealing with the Alert someone filed on this thread.

...because someone else will post while you're still in the middle of typing your own new post.

Multiple posts on the same subject, of course, do happen more often than is explained by just that, I'm only giving a reason why some slack has to be granted.

If two posts occur at about the same time, I understand that. But when a duplicate post is posted 2 hours later, then another 3 hours after the first, then another 4 hours later, etc., etc. — well, that's just sloppiness.

I seem to recall that DU had a rule against duplicate posts about a dozen years ago. Was it rescinded? Did it never exist and my memory's faulty? Or does it still exist but no one cares?
