I saw this in an advice column today

"Dear Amy:
My father-in-law refuses to believe that Biden has won the presidential election, and flies into a rage every time the subject is brought up. He gets red in the face, stamps his feet, and will even throw things. My wife insists that we should protect him by going out of our way to avoid any mention of the election. But I feel that postponing the inevitable will only result in increased hostility and feelings of isolation in a man who already believes the world is conspiring against him.
My question is, would it be better coming from me, or from an old family friend, whom he trusts? I'm sure this friend would be glad to help, in between speaking engagements at landscaping companies.

Worried,
J. Rod"

Why worry about it? If the idiot wants to believe in a fantasy world, let him. I wouldn't waste SWBTATTReg Nov 2020 #3

he already has a bunch of winners who could intercede - Jackson, Bornstein, Atlas, and Ablow.

one damn iota of energy on such idiots ... if these idiots are gullible enough to believe there is a child porn ring in a Pizza Hut that is run by HRC, in NYC, then they have a lot more problems facing reality.

If he throws things at you or your wife, call the police and have him arrested. Domestic violence is a crime.

If he's throwing your things in your home, but not throwing them at anyone, tell him to leave. If he refuses, call the police and have him arrested. Vandalism and trespassing are crimes.

If he's throwing his own things in his own home because he's having a temper tantrum, well, adults are allowed to have temper tantrums in their own homes, and to destroy their own property. Go home and leave him to it.
