and the last one to try it was Nixon and it was half hearted and didn't use the government.

It is dangerous, destabilizing, and, given that he has the power of the Presidency, a distinct possibility of being successful.

Reporters need to emphasize that all elections have some irregularities. They are usually small and impact in both directions. The 2016 election appears to be closer than this one, and, if Clinton and Obama had been willing to follow this approach, probably would have discovered as many irregularities.

The approach is insulting to the local poll workers and counting workers and the monitors from BOTH parties. It is insulting to the various Secretaries of State who run the elections.

The atrocities along the border largely took place before people paid attention. They're paying attention now, and the people trying to pull this off are arguably less competent than those who pulled families apart.

I'm not at all saying they're not trying to game the system, but I don't think they're smart enough to bring it about under the world's gaze.

electors to go rogue. I told my kids four years ago dis you ever imagine we would be fighting to save our republic. Sure Laurence Tribe wrote how the Rs plan to cancel the Pa vote if Trump lost by claiming massive voter fraud. As I recall, Tribe ended the article by saying something to the effect that Pa’s Gov Wolfe has the last say and would not sign off on the plan. That rational was based on the assumption the SCOTUS would faithfully interpret the Pa. election law. Now I read articles that in some R states there is no consequence for voting against the will of the people. Very concerning that note Rs have not repudiated Trump. Even more crazy that once again Trump has the media focused on non-existent voter fraud than other more important issues. Trump is using Mark Levin’s playbook and this needs to be exposed. The fight isn’t over yet.

This has been a Constitutional crisis since all US intel agencies announced russia interfered in the 2016 "election" (shortly after the election) & not a fucking thing was done to rectify it.

Steadily getting worse!

Now our national security is dangerously compromised due to his firings.

How long and to what extent will this be allowed to escalate?

There is nothing Trump has done that violates the constitution at this point (at least in terms of the election).

It doesn't state in the constitution you have to concede an election. It doesn't state you can't fight the results. It doesn't even state anywhere in the constitution you have to accept the transition process PRIOR to January 20th.

It sucks but we're not in a constitutional crisis. We're in the middle of a tantrum by a president who is being pacified by a party who likely knows, in the end, it's not going anywhere but would rather he exhaust his legal options before finally telling him to shut it down.
