Florida is the most right wing "swing" state

As close as the elections for POTUS, governor and senator are, Florida seems like a lost cause...and whatís even worse is that the republicans it elects to these offices arenít even moderates and donít govern as moderates....you would think that in a state where the elections are less than 2 points that they would try to reach out to their liberal constituency

1. Not a lost cause at all

The state Democratic party has been inept for decades. The state needs a transformative figure (or more than one) like Stacey Abrams has been in Georgia to help rescue it. It can be done. It's not like the Democrats have given the state our best shot or anything like it.

3. This! So much this! Follow @AnnaForFlorida. She is potentially our Stacey Abrams.

She is willing to take on the inept Florida Democratic Party which has only won 6 of 28 statewide elections the last 20 years. Pitiful. They are corporate Dems who pal around with the GOP.

With a 6-22 record youíd think theyíd follow her. She has a great grass roots following and is authentic, progressive and has won in moderate Central Florida districts. She won the state legislative seat in 2018 flipping a red seat and won again this year.

2. Because people move there to avoid taxes. While people moving to

places like Georgia, north Carolina, Texas tend to be young and work in new industries in tech, environment etc.

People go to Florida to just party .

6. Anecdotal, but everyone I know who has moved to

Florida are snowbirds who establish Florida as their home state for tax purposes.

15. No, not to party. Why do you think it's called God's Waiting Room? (retirees)

4. Two Things

(I live here)

1. Wingnuts from up north retire here, and rich Russians move here, because we have no state income tax, which KILLS us regular folks. They were already wingnuts before they moved here.

2. The state Dem party sucks. Gwen Graham didn't receive the backing she deserved is just one of many, many, many instances. I have volunteered on a local level, and they are horrible, especially compared to other states I've volunteered in (NC).

5. Let's wait to see how COVID 19 plays out

At the rate we are going, there will be a noticeable shift in the average age of voters as deSantis kills off the AARP card holders.

10. Its about the same margin as 2016 in Ohio. We need election reform

I call bullshit. I know there was a shift to democratic this year in cuyahoga...yet Hillary had a higher percentage than Joe. I work service in the area and visit 25 houses per week.

13. Biden won LESS counties in SlowHio than Hillary.

Cities are deep blue. The rest of this religion-poisoned, live-in-the-past state is pretty much Alabama with snow.

11. Tell me about it! It's frustrating

Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis won by a few thousand votes. They are out of step with HALF the state!

...and yet they donít govern like it. They donít moderate their position.

In 2022, we have a governorís race and senate on the ballot. All of my arrows will be pointed toward those two for the next two years.
