Imagine being so racist you can't even enjoy an iconic bop

As you can see, the shots of the audience (consisting of a balanced demographic of blonde and brunette white women) do not match the energy on stage. Lymon’s zestful stage presence (also, shout-out to Larenz Tate’s portrayal of the late iconic singer) is bursting with joy while these bigoted birds are as bland as the cottage cheese casserole they made for dinner following the concert. They are as rhythmless as the trot they made some 60-odd years later to the polls so they could vote for a tangerine tyrant who eventually lost the race fair and square. Welp.

Probably going to have to start dancing pretty soon.

No, I can't imagine holding that kind of hatred within myself. They make me sick.

7. Couple years before this clip, a similar show had Frankie Lymon briefly dancing with a white girl.

The uproar led to the show's cancellation.

in America. We have come so far, but still many miles to go.

I made this thread because I thought the writer made a great point when she made a straight through line to trump. Where do we think those people went? What did they teach their children and grandchildren? We are marveling at the fact that 70 million people voted for trump despite all the mayhem he has created.

She was and is a racist, although the years have brought acceptance and she no longer uses racial slurs. So was my father, who didn’t consider himself a racist because he worked along side black men in the 60’s and liked boxing.

Here is a sample of my fathers wisdom “the N****** are the worst, but then you have the finger poppers, but some of the black guys are good people, hard workers and good family men”.
Or
“N****** are good at sports because they had to run in the jungle”

He also fetishized black women. How do I know? He was a misogynistic asshole, who didn’t mind sharing his thoughts with his daughter

He was a very average white man. My Mom is an average, 82 year old white women.

I never underestimate racism.
