The same way they have fucked up the citizen mandate to allow returning citizens (former felons) the right to vote. No where in the amendment we voted for was the demand that returning citizens pay fines and fees they were never notified about until after they tried to register to vote.

I can see the Florida Legislature adding that increases in minimum wage only being allowed after people work more than x number of years at the same position or if they are over a certain age (excluding minors) or that they must have a family. I will not put it past them.

Just saying - I hate Florida Republicans as much as the Blues Brothers hated Illinois Nazis.

...while stealing back twice as much from you before the ink is dry on the dotted line.

VENEZUELA could teach people a lot about how socialism worked out for them.
They either starved or fled their country as they came to realize their new authoritarian govt controlled the socialist promise.

Socialism NOT what they're selling you.
Ask the people of Venezuela.

Someone wants to argue about the meaning of socialism, pivot to the policy. Repeat as needed. "What are you against a living wage?" etc.

particularly the mention of FLORIDA
blow out Republican wins for 4 out of 5 House contests
blow out R wins for 4 out of 5 State Senate seats
blow out R wins for 5 out of 5 State House seats (one uncontested)
and, oh yeah, Donald Trump handily wins the state by about 6-7 percentage points greater than polling expected

NYTimes overall analysis: "FL shifts even further right"

Really got the base working down there!
(sorry about the snark -- but I'm still feeling a just a little ass-hurt by some of these results)

Many of us AA are far from progressive. Most of us do not identify with any side of the spectrum. Cori is doing more to alienate "the base" in her post than anything. Cori needs to broaden her horizon. Blacks, Latinos, Asians, Indigenous voters (I heard the Navajo nation helped in Arizona as well), we want a united Democratic party. Voters will support some progressive, some centrist, and even some conservative agenda. I don't know about other states but in FL, there has to be a 60% majority to pass an amendment. Therefore, the passage of the $15 minimum wage means some Trump voters, voted for it as well.

The Republicans are united in defeat and us Democrats are divided in victory
