(14,198 posts)I live in Tucson and we are very blue. People in the state has been looking towards Tucson more than red Phoenix. The change in thinking has been slow, but has been happening.

(53,061 posts)Phoenix is not a red city,.
Democrats dominate city politics in Phoenix (as they do in Tucson) although not by the same margins. Both leading candidates for Mayor were Democrats. The two Democratic Congresspeople that represent the city of Phoenix win by landslide percents (while McSally narrowly won Gabby's seat).
Party affiliation for the City of Phoenix is 44% Democratic 33% Republican and 22% Independent.
The Phoenix neighborhood I live in (Willo) is the bluest neighborhood I have ever lived in, including Tucson and California with Biden signs prominently shown in virtually every house with just two houses showing non Trump Republican signs.
Both Tucson and Phoenix are blue cities with red suburbs. Both sets of suburbs are getting bluer. Maricopa County (which has been red in the past) voted for Joe Biden as President, quite a change for the place that elected Joe Arpio.

I read earlier tonight that they said, after an internal post election audit that there was no voter fraud. None. Zilch. Nada!

(23,715 posts)it means Biden now has 270 EVs even if drumpf wants to contest PA. the more states he has to contest, the more unlikely it is he will be able to undermine the election somehow. His odds of pulling off some sort of court appointment just went from about 1% to 0.01%

(97,627 posts)Arizona is blue, Takket.
Thanks.

(6,477 posts)Which means he'd need all three of the Rust Belt states to somehow reverse, since any two won't cover the difference.

(5,577 posts)Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin show as flipped from red to blue, and Biden's lead in Georgia looks secure. That'll make 306 votes for Biden, and Trump will win North Carolina's 15 votes to add to his 217 for 232.
That is wonderful news. Thanks, Towlie. That map will be amazing when the counts are said and done. We are turning blue.

(1,910 posts)GA, AZ...NC next, TX within 8 years. I have no idea the calculations they have made to embrace the radical base when demographics is moving against them in every way. They will never even get this close again to winning a national election.
The future may be Congress shifting back and forth between parties but Democratic Presidents governing by executive orders for the next 30 years.

(97,627 posts)How sweet the sound.
As a side note. This is for Senator Gabriel Giffords too.
Link to tweet
She was shot in the head at a rally. A deranged Republican, Sarah Palin, called up the crazies and put up a target on Giffords. She almost died. Let us be clear, tRump is advocating the same violence against Democrats. This is not right. It is dangerous rhetoric and has to stop.

(2,889 posts)I contributed! AZ made me nervous but we got out the vote like never before
On November 2nd, walking my neighborhood in Chandler there were 5 Biden/Harris signs to 1 Trump. Well that is houses with signs. The Trump houses had flags and all kinds of shit. I have to admit I was surprised. I thought it much more Red. So happy to be wrong!
You could buy Trump paraphernalia on a lot of corners. I didn't see any Biden/Harris campaign merchandise begin sold on corners. I don't get out much but I wonder if that was wide spread or just what I happened to notice.
