Pundits are talking about Trump as a martyr. I don't think it works.

I could be wrong but it seems to me if Trump tries to sell the martyr meme it won't work. Trump has made it clear that he despises martyrs, i.e. someone who suffers or dies for a noble cause. "I like soldiers who don't get captured." Soldiers who die in battle are "losers and suckers." Megan McCain trolled Trump on this yesterday when she said "I like Presidents who don't t lose Arizona." Trump has a big L branded on his head now. He needs to win. He didn't and he will not be able to pretend he won by becoming a martyr.
