Covid-19 has a long way to go

The state with the most deaths is NY, with 33,926 total deaths or 1,744 deaths / Million population.

Scaling that to the US, with a total population of 328 million, we get 572,032.

Current US total deaths from Covid-19 is 249,276.

Since people appear to only learn by experience, rather than by observation, I wouldn't be surprised to see total US deaths to rise to 600,000 before Spring.

That would still be a Covid-19 death rate of a little less than 0.2% annually. In a typical year, about 0.9% of the population dies from all causes, around 2,952,000.

3. There's reasonably good data on deaths. There seems to be largely anecdotal info on after effects.

The main damage is to the pulmonary system, circulatory system and neurological system.

But to what extent, how long and how often depending on whether the Covid case was aysmptomatic, symptomatic, hospitalized or went to ICU is not readily available.

Without data the best guess would be that with more deaths there will also be proportionately more post Covid disability.
