Kamala is an alternate name of a well-known Hindu goddess, who is probably better known as Lakshmi. Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of prosperity, good luck, and beauty, and she's often depicted with the lotus flower
Devi is the Sanscrit word for "Goddess."
Harris is a pretty common surname.

Kamala contains both kama and mala.
Kama is desire, not "Kama-Sutra", but all desires. Indeed, who would act at all if not for the desire of the expected result, but unexpected results too, and unseen results as well, often thwart our desires.
Mala suggests the string on which flower or bead or other is strung, connected. Mala suggests the constant-connecting.
That our lives move, impelled by our actions and reactions to the results, strung on a cord of desires, is one take (unfolding) of the word kamala.
