Wis. today. 7,777 new cases, 58 deaths, positive test rate remains above 36%.

The number of times Trump came here to do massspreading rallies are taking its toll. He strategically came to every part of the state - north, south, east and west. It's truly disheartening to see these numbers climb so high. We don't go out except for supplies and caretaking family.

The state of Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported a record 7,777 new coronavirus cases Thursday — the third consecutive, and the fourth overall, day the state has confirmed more than 7,000, and the third record-setting day in the past four — on just over 18,500 tests, a positive test rate of just over 42 percent.

The seven-day positive test rate remained steady at 36.2 percent, down slightly from yesterday’s 36.4 percent.

The number of people currently hospitalized for coronavirus infection fell to 2,045, 32 fewer than Thursday. Of those, 435 are in the ICU, an increase of 11 since Thursday, and the patient population at the alternative care facility in Milwaukee rose by one to 15.

Looking at the Johns-Hopkins website, I noticed about half of the last 15 days tests were 40,000-57,000 each day.
The other half of the days appeared to be under 40k, but over 30k. Eyeball guesstimate is a bit over 40,000 tests per day.
Illinois is averaging in the mid 90 thousands, so Wisconsin is comparable on a population basis.
That makes the 36% super critical, because it's not 36% of a small sample.
The testing is comparable to California testing 280k per day. California is under 200k actual.
They're testing nearly one out of every 140 people a day! And the infection rate is still that high!

Even in a town with 1500 people they offer testing once a week on a regular basis.

I'm in the exurbs of Chicago (south & west), and we've got four towns all 5 to 8 miles from one another, each with 4,500 to 6,000. Around 20,000 people.
I know of no place locally to get tested, unless exhibiting symptoms. The 5 or 6 hospital branch sites are at least doing that part.

Can't speak to the more rural counties closer to the Mississippi or north of Wausau

On edit: Actually I can with a little googling.
