DHS tells a Fed Judge it made false statements to the court regarding Chad Wolf

I hope the judge throws the book here....this is beyond disgraceful.

“Malevolence tempered by incompetence,” Exhibit 43,961:

In their rush to try to paper over the legal vulnerabilities of measures
@DHS_Wolf
signed while unlawfully serving as Acting Secretary, DHS seems to have both messed up the timing *and* misrepresented it to DOJ/the courts.

Oh look — DHS tells a Federal Judge it made false statements to the court regarding its efforts to claim that illegally appointed Chad Wolf was not illegally appointed.

Serious stuff; should be treated as such.

Normally the attorneys who made the misrepresentation would be sanctioned but is that right here? How much was the fault of Wolf and others at DHS? Is this correction of the record a way for the attorneys to show their contempt for Wolf now that Trump and Wolf are leaving?

I don't know. I'm just raising questions.
