Gun sales expected to set new records after Joe Biden's White House win

New York (CNN Business)Joe Biden's projected White House win could boost gun sales in what has already been a landmark year for gun makers.
"The election of a Democratic president who has promised to tighten gun control legislation could very well prompt increased demand for firearms," says Rommel Dionisio, managing director of Aegis Capital.

Biden has long been vocal on the issue of gun control. The former vice president has said gun manufacturers are "the enemy" of the Democratic party's gun control efforts. His campaign website calls for a ban on manufacturing and future sales of assault weapons like the AR-15, a position he has maintained since a string of high-profile mass shootings in 2019.

Dionisio says gun owners' fears of Democrats passing gun control legislation fuels a predictable surge in sales before and after elections. Gun sales in 2020 reached a record high ahead of Election Day after maintaining an unprecedented pace for most of the year. Oliva says October firearm sales rose 60% compared to the same month a year ago and more than 17 million guns were sold through the first 10 months of 2020.

was in office (or didn't sign in under another name when booted). But they'll be back spewing support for more gunz, Rittenhouse, Zimmerman, Stand Your Ground, shooting looters, open carrying of so-called assault weapons at Chuckie Cheeze and protests, and worse.

Are they full on white wingers or might they be mostly liberal but conservative about guns? Honest question because I’m not familiar with them.

It is really about fear and paranoia which become obsessive, to me.

First, you get into guns to "protect your x, y and z" then you transfer that fear to protecting your guns because now, somebody wants to take them away. It's always a scary world for them.

They amplify the message within their groups and use inflammatory language and it just becomes a paranoia fest.

Of course, the right to protect yourself from government tyranny is now passe, (considering the advanced weapons) but they still adhere to that nostalgia. We ain't talkin' no muskets here.

I think it would be wise for liberals to own guns, frankly. It's that kind of mutually assured destruction (MAD) factor that helps keep conservatives sober. It's not perfect, but it's a factor. Everyone needs to be clear that civil war thinking translates directly to "it's your and your family's asses too, Bub."

Knowing that risk, knowing that fear is a key to happiness. Unity is the only sane thing to pursue, but people don't tend to be happy with compromise if they think they have an option not to. They don't have that option. None of us do. We need to set that idea completely aside and get on with making a great world for ourselves and the future.

We recently bought a handgun after a very bad experience trying to put down a sick chicken with a BB gun (not into wringing their necks). Same for a goat last year with a shotgun. A gun is a farm necessity, like it or not.

But we are in the middle of God & Guns country here, where you best not have a Biden sign out front. Plenty of serious trump wackos here, and they are mad as hornets now. Best to be prepared, and not have to use it.

I truly hope the Biden era will make a dent in the fear and loathing of Dems. This election should have never even have been close.

Scary black guy from Kenya coming for all their guns and forcing them into SOSHALIZUM!!!??? BIG GUBMENT BAD!!!!!!

All the scare tactics couldn't possibly be just another NRA/GOP marketing campaign, could they?

Just curious: Why don't civilized countries have this kind of unregulated gun culture? Aren't their governments trying to force them into SOSHALIZUM and servitude?
