Trump supporter attacked couple with a golf club in White Bear Lake, charges say

A man who identified as a supporter of President Donald Trump used a golf club to assault an older couple sitting by a political sign in White Bear Lake, charges say.


Mark Anthony Ulsaker, 50, of Lino Lakes, is charged with one count of second-degree assault, one count of fourth-degree assault of a peace officer and one count of threats of violence, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday in Ramsey County District Court.

At about 3:20 p.m. Sunday, White Bear Lake police officers responded to the intersection of Minnesota 96 and Centerville Road after receiving multiple 911 calls from witnesses reporting a man assaulting two people with a golf club, the complaint said.

When officers arrived, they found a group of people standing on the northeast corner of the intersection, and the couple, an 80-year-old man and a 78-year-old woman. A witness told police that the suspect, a man in his mid-40s, walked up behind the couple and began to swing his club at their heads, the complaint said. The club broke in the process and the suspect then punched the man in the head.

16. A leading expert on authoritarian types say they're aggressive cowards, typically

choosing to attack those who make easy victims, like this couple and immigrant children. They most normally attack in packs, but I guess this guy felt he'd be safe from them if he took them out quickly from behind.
