President Trump has not attended a coronavirus task force meeting in “at least five months,” the Washington Post reports.

“The president is no longer regularly briefed on the pandemic by his team of doctors, and he rarely reads the daily virus reports prepared by Birx… The reports have grown increasingly grim in recent weeks, aides said, but are largely ignored in the West Wing.”

The virus makes him look bad so he wants nothing to do with the virus. If he ignores it and only happy talks the virus he hopes the problem just magically goes away.

6. The results of that failure are obvious right now

I remember Fauci's warning how alarming 60k new cases are and that the US would be facing 100k daily cases soon if no measures were taken. The Repubs completely ignored it because politically it was an inconvenience.

This will be another mess the Dems have to tackle that is willfully exacerbated by the Repubs in the final months. And just like after 2008, the Dems will get hammered for not cleaning up the mess fast enough.
