Finally, what group of people would form the class filing the suit?

(150,879 posts)I followed the media. All were reporting the number of cases and deaths. All reported on the suggested measures people could take against. All reported what the administration was saying, as well as what other experts were saying. Fox News did a terrible job of all that, but still reported the disease as it spread.
Trump is responsible for playing down the danger. What he said got reported, as well. The media is not legally responsible for telling people anything other than what is happening and what is being said about it. Morally responsible, yes, but not legally.

(2,554 posts)That would open up all kinds of possibilities for assaults on free speech rights. I think it would be far better to restore the fairness doctrine, or something like it, which would be kind of the opposite of what you are pondering.
