It seems once there was a very frustrated therapist. For many months this therapist had been trying to disprove the belief of particular patient. This patient's belief was that he was already deceased. No matter what school of therapy this counselor took the patient refused to be disabused of this belief.

Finally, one day in desperation, the therapist asked the patient, " tell me, do you believe dead men bleed?"

The patient replied, "now that you mention it, I don't think so."

Immediately on hearing this response the therapist jabbed the patient in the forearm with a small needle and, while they watched a small bubble of blood appear on the patient's forearm, the patient responded, " what do you know, dead men do bleed."
