Over 600 partiers busted over the weekend in three separate illegal NYC parties

Deputy sheriffs busted three underground parties that together drew over 600 revelers and doled out tickets that could lead to tens of thousands of dollars in fines, the office said Sunday.

In the Bronx, deputies put an end to an underground boxing tournament on Coster Ave. near E. Bay Ave. in Hunts Point around 7 p.m. Saturday. The fight night, known as “Rumble in the Bronx’” was advertised on social media. When officials showed up, they found over 200 people watching amateur fights, smoking hookah, drinking, and partying without social distancing or face masks.

Ten organizers were arrested while tickets were given out for unlawful assembly, failure to protect health and safety due to COVID, violation of emergency means, unauthorized warehousing of alcohol and obstructed egress. Deputies also found two loaded guns at the party and significant amounts of marijuana, according to officials.

In Manhattan, the deputies did an online search and found an underground club at Rogue Space, an art gallery and event space on 23rd St. near 10th Ave. in Chelsea. Officials entered the swanky building around 1 a.m. Saturday and found over 200 people partying, drinking, and smoking hookah without social distancing or wearing masks. Five people were arrested and issued desk appearance tickets, officials said.

In Brooklyn, deputies put the kibosh on a party at Hearts of Love banquet hall on Liberty Ave. near Williams Ave. in East New York around 3 a.m. Saturday, officials said. Deputies staked out the property, and after watching over 100 people go inside, entered the event space and found almost 200 revelers partying the night away, drinking and smoking hookah. Four people were arrested and given desk appearance tickets, including a bouncer.
