United States COVID Deaths Per Million By State - Top 25

There are some surprising results when you look at deaths per million due to COVID. Of course, the Northeastern states, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts top the lists since they were hit hard during the last winter. However, you don't see California, which is always mentioned due to the sheer number of cases it has, because it is the largest state in the union.

kushner should be tried for mass murder for pushing the government to embrace a policy of abdicating any roll in fighting the virus.

2. There Is A Republican Effort to Recall Newsome In California

Of course, on the left, you are starting to see social media attacks on Newsome's handling of COVID. Yet, when you look at the data, you can make a strong argument that Newsome has done the best job in the United States in terms of responding to the pandemic.

we were on the early end of covid. I know people were infected in Feb in Silicon Valley so it got an early start here. Our initial stay in place order helped a lot I think.

...in front of Home Depot seeking signatures for another Republican donor funded recall of a Democratic official in California. It is a common Republican tactic in California to immediately seek to recall Democrats by forcing a special recall election with low turnout by paying folks to gather signatures. As is normally the case, Republicans have difficulty winning when people turnout and there is no voter suppression.

Even the 2020 election, which had record setting turnout overall, also had increasingly obvious efforts at voter suppression such as Trump's sabotage of the postal service in an effort to scuttle vote by mail.

The states getting hit hardest now aren’t the ones that were hit hardest first. And they know better now

7. New deaths - Daily average deaths, last 7 days

In the table listing the states, the default is "Cases" click the "Deaths" button above the table.

Then be sure it's sorted by the last column "Per 100,000"

The below is the bottom of the table with non-states removed. The lower down, the better

The next to the last column is Daily Avg (deaths) in last 7 days
The last colum is per 100,000

+ Virginia MAP »   3,800   45   13.6   0.2
+ New York MAP »   33,477   172   27.1   0.1
+ Maine MAP »   165   12   1.6   0.1
+ New Hampshire MAP »   499   37   1.4   0.1
+ Oregon MAP »   760   18   4.4   0.1
+ California MAP »   18,259   46   41.4   0.1
+ Hawaii MAP »   221   16   0.3 less than 0.1
+ Vermont MAP »   59   9 — —

So only 2 states are better than California in new deaths per capita
