My Unfortunate Encounter with a MAGA COVID19-SARS2 Survivor

The doctor wanted blood work so she sent me up to the local medical lab. I first saw him ahead of me, another slightly older white guy, at the door looking at his phone and wearing a "support the police shirt".

Still looking at his phone he motions its ok to pass him.

I go in and he follows sitting next to a woman he seemed to know in the waiting area and started to chat her up.

At this point he pulls his mask down below his nose and tells her the story about him having short-breathing etc. and that the doctor sent him to the hospital because he was positive for Covid. Complaining like hell that they isolated him. After telling her, and all of us in the waiting room about more symptoms he suffered for over a week in the hospital, he made his conclusion.

He said it was, "no worse than the flu."

At that point I was staring at both of them with my jaw down to the floor. Then the receptionist called my name.

So I tell the kind woman who is taking my blood about him and she shook her head adding, "we are so stupid". I knew immediately what she meant by the "we..". Because we live in a dead red PA county where people think wearing a mask is a result of a moral failure to unseat our great Gov. Tom Wolf and our cool Lt. Gov. John Fetterman.

Around here, "Impeach Wolf" lawn-signs are as common as Trump signs that are still, even now, standing next to since added "Stop the Steal" signs.

The lab worker said people come in "all the time" wearing a mask, only to have them "pull it down" to talk. She said they, "don't understand they are breathing it towards us".

I had to agree and added, shaking my own head, "we are so stupid".

8. Why the fuck isn't the lab insisting people

wear their masks and wear them correctly?

There need to be giant signs and pictures on the door and inside. And the staff needs to speak up anytime someone pulls down the mask.

And people just don't understand how they are getting this, since they think they "are doing everything right."

....checked our temps, questions etc. He had it on correctly when he was looking at his phone. I never saw him after I was done. By the lab worker I had said to me, I'm sure they told him to cover his nose.

Like we both said, "people are so stupid".

people not wearing masks or wearing them wrong I give them a wide berth and tell management. I’m not brave enough to say anything to them but I’ll be sure and report them to someone.

Same with Facebook. Sometimes it’s better just to report the post as fake news, hate speech or abuse. After all, they won’t know who reported them.

30. I succeeded once in a lab waiting room to get a chin-mask-wearer to pull it into place.

I asked her to, and she said that she'd gotten tired of it. And then I pointed to another woman in the small room -- who WAS wearing a mask -- and said, "But she's pregnant."

Instant compliance.

And I think most people wouldn't knowingly take the chance of exposing a pregnant woman. But the thing is, almost any woman under 45 might be early on in a pregnancy. You can't tell by looking.

I think he had a bad case of pneumonia...same symptoms and easier to treat than Covid. yet claim he had Covid ... Months back, remember when he said he was on hydroxychloroquine, on a daily dose?...Well when you take this medicine, you only take one dose a week, and usually before you go into places with Malaria. If he took this stuff on a daily basis, he would be laying six foot under the ground, which makes his claims bogus... The meds he got would clean up pneumonia in a week or so....only thing that throws a monkey into this theory, everyplace he went, Covid broke out.....

To the receptionist and the office manager and eventually upper management that they are not enforcing the mask policy. There is no way they should be allowing that. Take photos for evidence.

I find the attitude expressed, "It's not about COVID, it's about control!" The fools need to realize that it's not a "rights" issue, it's a public health issue. As long as we allow health issues to be politicized, the body count will continue to grow...and Trumpers seem to learn little, even after direct observation and personal experience of COVID.

I was talking to a person I was friends with for years and is now a nurse. When Trump was selected, he went stupid, and I had to cut it off.

We started talking again because of the mutual love for Eddie Van Halen and his passing. I asked him about how he is doing during covid. Pretty much what I expected!

Washing hands is normal, but masks or anything else are worthless according to THIS nurse.

WTF, man? Masks can only help, and coming from a nurse is insane to me. I hope nobody has to deal with him in a life threatening situation.
