Trump and Republicans ran up the biggest deficits, federal debt, and bloated budgets in the history of the Republic. They spent like drunken socialists. Their charges of “socialism” aimed at anyone else are laughable.

Important to remember that over half the added debt was pre-COVID and incurred during what Trump claimed was the greatest economy ever. Debt gets paid down when the economy is strong. There’s an appropriate time for deficits and debt, like right now during the COVID crisis.

just how big it really is.

For people who can visualize one million dollars, the comparison made on CNN should give you an idea about a trillion - “if you start spending a million dollars every single day since Jesus was born, you still wouldn’t have spend a trillion dollars”.

Another mathematician puts it like this: “1 million seconds is about 11.5 days, 1 billion seconds is about 32 years while a trillion seconds is equal to 32,000 years“.

Now multiply that by 27.

Letting the parasite class exist is a malevolent decision.

The covid component is inescapable and necessary.

With that willingness to borrow, and with different priorities than tax cuts for the wealthy, imagine what we could have done with stimulus and continuation of wages to get ahead of COVID in the spring.

Making the RICH richer isn't the same thing as actually caring for The People and doing something about human suffering.

THERE IS NO PROFIT in being a country that CARES about People enough to DO something about the problems in society.

IF THEY HAD SPENT LIKE DRUNKEN SOCIALISTS we would have 3 approved programs to get us through COVID.
IF THEY HAD SPENT LIKE DRUNKEN SOCIALISTS we would have enough masks and test for everyone.
IF THEY HAD SPENT LIKE DRUNKEN SOCIALISTS at LEAST we would have SOMETHING to show for all this debt.

Instead, they spent like Republicans always do, on their own vacations, on their own violations of the emollient clause, on coverups and repayment of bribes taken and on lawsuits without evidence to make a public display.

Trump caused pretty much the same debt in just 4 years.
