Since the 1990s the GOP has relied on many techniques of election subversion to win national and many state elections. Suppression and outright theft increasingly SOP for decades because their giant electoral college advantage isn't enough..

And they had to be able to do that this time.

So my theory is that the GOP's massive election thefts in 2016 and 2018, 2016 especially abetted by hostile foreign powers, sabotaged their 2020 plans by both forcing by our intelligence agencies to closely monitor the elections AND by causing Americans in general to care and pay far more attention than usual.
