Biden doesnt have to breathe fire at the Senate Majority Leader. The President-Elect has the winning message. He knows that the American people hate what the US Senate has become, and he is positioning McConnell to take the heat if he insists on not coming to the table and working with Democrats. - PoliticusUSA
If we work hard in Georgia and voters come out in droves like they just did, we can relegate Moscow Mitch to the waste bin of political history. He'll be irrelevant. Wouldn't that be dandy?!

(8,677 posts)But this is a fruitless tree. In order for it to matter you would have to believe McConnell even cares but in reality he is just hate and despair shoved in a turtle shell of pettiness.
Rank and file, your normal voter, Republicans, are delusional cultists who will literally believe trump's lies, even on their death beds with all evidence and reality contradicting their beliefs.
I would love it if republicans could be reasonable and understanding but that isn't reality.
Not sure what the answer is but I know its not ever going to be holding hands and singing the Coke song with Republicans.

(94 posts)Assuming Ossoff and Warnock aren't both victorious (and I pray they are), then Mitch has nothing at all to lose by obstructing Biden the same way he did Obama. His base, the feckless rubes of the once great Commonwealth of Kentucky, will eat it up. And he knows that the seat he holds in the Senate will never be taken from him.
Our only hope is the 50/50 split, and even then we'll have to keep Joe Manchin on a very, very short leash.
