Howard Stern: A Trump media network would 'fail inside of a year like all the other businesses'

“The president all weekend was busy tweeting about Fox News," Stern said. "He’s mad at them because they actually had some reality over there and now he’s talking about... the OANN network, which I’ve never seen, actually. I don’t know how you get it.”

“(If) he thinks running the country is hard, wait ‘til he has to run a news network," Stern said. "That’ll fail inside of a year like all the other businesses. This is just insanity what’s going on.”

The president has a long history of misadventure in the business world, including six bankruptcies, according to the Washington Post. The New York Times, has reported on “billions of dollars in business losses that have defined (Trump’s) career.” The president has called the Times “fake news” and claimed he’s worth more than $10 billion, while declining to release his tax returns.

“For once do something good for the country, calm down your f---ing loony hillbilly friends and tell them you lost the election and you’re going to help the transition,” Stern asked. “These loonies who follow you are all worked up; they think something was taken from them.”

His track record is abysmal in any enterprise that's been "managed" by him. And nobody with any expertise wants to work with him or for him. Americans who are already wealthy know how to make money, and it can't be done by giving it to lost causes like Chump and his family.

that he tries to throw his weight around and exert influence within an existing RW media org. I don’t see that ending well for him either.

like Putie, would back him just to keep the chaos going. Not as a money making enterprise, but as a political investment in tearing down democracy.

Upside is that if he got out of control and pissed them off, they'd know how to deal with him.

Trump certainly doesn't have the money to start a media network by himself, and he won't be able to borrow the money from any legitimate bank, or investment firm either.

Also, I don't see anything in it for Saudi Arabia, and it's even a real long-shot for Putin to foot the bill. Last, even if Putin wanted to fund a Trump network, simply to create chaos in our country, I doubt he could do it secretly.

Trump was on Stern's show many times, and they spent a lot of off time hanging out together. I think Stern is one of the few people Trump respects even when they disagree.

the people who know the UNpresident best, have been vocal over the past 4 years in interviews about "what he's really like," have made it clear that they know him as totally unfit to be president, just a NY flim flam con. And STERN openly chose Hillary and OBAMA.

I don't credit the UNpresident with any respect for anybody who opposes him in any way, especially with the kind of comments made by STERN and the others. He has always lashed out at anybody who went against him.

Repeating, I think the UNpresident is afraid of STERN.

He was very open that he thought from the start, and told Trump, that the job would be bad for Trump and Trump would be bad at the job. They have always been friends despite disagreeing a lot about politics. Stern has always been the guy who can say things like that to Trump and stay his friend, because Trump is going to ignore it anyway and they just move on. If Trump is afraid of Stern then Stern himself certainly didn't seem to know about it.

His only goal is to assemble a team of crooks who can leverage his "brand" and create and shamelessly promote a barely credible facade of success, borrow hundreds of millions of dollars with unobtainable promises of future success as collateral, pocket the money, default on all the loan payments and file for bankruptcy, leaving his gullible investors and subscribers holding the bill.

This is the Trump business model, which he employed time and time again, and got away with it. And now he has literally millions of suckers in the US and elsewhere literally begging him to take advantage of their stupidity. How can he possibly pass up on this once in a lifetime opportunity?
