(24,455 posts)He has to be humiliated at a State Supreme Court for bringing baseless charges for a baseless pResident.

(26,044 posts)In that respect, Giuliani is right -- win or lose, the whole purpose of this is to get election cases before the SCOTUS. At which point, we'll find out if the facts, the Constitution, and hundreds of years of case law count, or if it's a simple matter of mathematics, as in (Three Trump nominees + Alito + Thomas = a majority for whatever outcome Trump wants). And, while most of us are convinced the latter won't happen, we won't really know until the case comes before them and they issue an opinion. And I wish I was more confident in the outcome.

(24,455 posts)that is the "worst case" scenario and it will tell everything going forward should that come to bear.

Mr.Bill
(24,282 posts)the other side would appeal it to the SCOTUS. And I would reather arrive in that court as the winner in the lower court than the loser. And, of course, there is always the risk that the SCOTUS refuses to hear the case. Another instance where it's better to be the winner in the lower court than the loser. If this is Rudy's planned course for victory on the SCOTUS level, he's making a mockery of the court and the Justices, and a fool of himself. Of course, at this point we should expect no different.

This is what happens when you send someone that isn't actually a lawyer into an actual court instead of just letting him vomit his lies in front of laura ingram all day.
the court room is the last bastion of sanity in a post-truth world created by the GOP...........

(24,455 posts)Is he so detached from reality, that he thinks Rudi is the right guy to argue his case at a Supreme Court? It's like, he DOES NOT GIVE A SHIT what he is doing to the US judicial system.
I really hope Biden revisits his thinking that "sweeping Trump under the Rug" is a good long term strategy for the USA. We did this in 2008 and look what the opposition delivered in 2016.

(3,321 posts)He is preaching to the choir, erm his base. Fighting this bullshit fight makes him look good to his base. He has plans for them, biggly plans.

(58,347 posts)he knows he can't win any of these court cases.
It's all for show.
And as a showman, he knows that he need send anyone competent: just someone about whom he can say to his ignorant base "See! Even the courts are against us! The media, the courts, the deep state, everyone! Asking us all those 'gotcha' questions in court, refusing the massive amounts of proof we told them we had..." blah blah blah.

(18,486 posts)My other favorite was when the judge asked Giuliani about the rational basis standard and he responded "How is it rational for one state to have two different standards" for curing ballots.
