There is very little chance of transmission by consumed food.

Organize family that is in the area to prepare a meal with each family member preparing part of it. Set up a round-robbin to deliver the food to each other - and spend some masked time socializing (outside if weather permits it; socially distanced) - then take your family meal home and eat it. If you haven't had enough social time - set up zoom on top of (rather than instead of) socializing.

I'm pushing really hard on not eating together. It's just not safe, since you can't eat with a mask on.

BUT when we make it such a stark choice, as if the only relatively safe choice is zoom - when all of us are exhausted from sacrificing - a lot will take the risk of a small, but traditional, Thanksgiving. Just check out the responses to the Thanksgiving risk calculator that's been posted a number of times here. There have been quite a few "Gee - that's not so bad, maybe I can eat with my family."
