And might explain Wussy DeWines wimpy actions this week.

An Ohio wedding left dozens with the coronavirus, including the bride and groom: It starts to take a toll on you
snip-"...Mikayla Bishop said...Now, more than two weeks later, she said, 32 of the 83 guests at her Cincinnati-area wedding have tested positive for the coronavirus, including three of the couples grandparents. Bishop and her husband, Anthony, also contracted the virus, she told the TV station."
snip-"Ohio officials are concerned enough about the dangers of weddings and other large gatherings that Gov. Mike DeWine (R) announced Monday a revised health order limiting mass gatherings in the state. Since March, no gatherings with more than 10 people are allowed in the state, but funerals and weddings are excluded from the 10-people limit. As of Tuesday, wedding receptions, funerals and other events held at banquet facilities are not allowed to have more than 10 people seated per table. Additionally, no dancing will be permitted at these events where attendees should wear their masks at all times except when eating or drinking."
snip-"Only the couples three grandparents wore masks at all times, except when they were they were eating or drinking, Mikayla Bishop said, and none of them stepped onto the dance floor, where none of the partyers masked up or kept their distance.
Yet all three grandparents later tested positive for the virus, WLWT reported, and two spent time in the emergency room with severe symptoms."
That couple have blood on their hands. This is going to expand through the Ohio & maybe Kentucky.
So similiar to the Maine and Washington state weddings

(44,973 posts)Well, eating or drinking doesn't magically protect one from getting covid. From their photos, people were seated at the dining tables very close to each other.

Ignorance abounds.....
One eats or drinks a lot at the wedding. Grandparents wore masks when not eating or drinking. But that isn't going to help when a lot of time is spend eating or drinking.

snip-"Two weeks later, 32 guests have tested positive, including the newlyweds and three of their grandparents. Two grandparents had to visit the emergency room due to severe symptoms.
"Weddings are definitely scary right now. I didn't think that almost half of our wedding guests were gonna get sick," Mikayla Bishop said. "You're in the moment. You're having fun. You don't think about COVID anymore."
snip-"The Bishops said they felt guilty about guests getting sick, especially their grandparents.
"What's crazy is that our grandparents were the only ones that wore a mask the whole time. They actually wore their mask except for when they were eating their dinner," Mikayla Bishop said.
They added that their grandparents were not on the dance floor, but the couple believes dancing made their wedding riskier."
Maybe the 2 jerks should have *not* done the absolutely selfish thing and had a small safe wedding.
In either story, no acknowledgement of their sin and crimes.

(128,860 posts)the concept of the potential "viral load" in the air when you have many in a group not consistently wearing a mask except a few who are trying to do what is right.
At that point, about the only "mask" that might have helped the grandparents would have been N95s and very few out there in the general public have those, so they are mostly using either the disposable paper ones and/or are more commonly using (from what I have seen on my infrequent trips out) the cloth ones.
I know (for the thread) there is a popular graphic (or variations of it) that many states have used for educational purposes -

(21,596 posts)I wear a tight fitting disposable medical mask under a cloth mask. I usually wear a hat and sunglasses when outside.
I add a face shield to my double masks when I have to go into a store or a doctors office.

(2,636 posts)That's how big reception tables are--ten people.
That's no limit at all. These events, a throwback to the Pre-Covid era, and Living Room Spread. Yes, we're all fatigued, but some of us have been social distancing and masking since March. Selfish, Randian, Libertarian, foolish, antiscience dupes.
Masks in public. Eat before you get there. Or after you get home. Or both.
Marry in a small service--have a reception when it's safe.
Gonna be real ugly this winter.
