So why isn't Clyburn on any lists for the cabinet?

He is as close to single handedly responsible for Biden winning as a person whose name isn't Biden could be. I don't recall him saying he wouldn't serve in the cabinet. He should be secretary of whatever he dang well pleases given his role in Biden's win.

I seriously doubt at this point in his life he has any interest in leaving congress for a four year position.

Biden would say no. Not everyone wants a Cabinet position. Also, he may be up for something, we just don't know about it yet.

he is not getting any younger and likely doesn't want to change careers at this time. Having said that, who is to say he isn't. Only a few positions have been announced.

Not everyone wants to be in the Cabinet, especially when they wield more power as the House Majority Whip.

And he's 80.

to serve in the Cabinet, assuming he wants to. Yes, Clyburn is the reason things turned around for Biden in South Carolina.
