Kornacki named as one of People's sexiest men alive

People magazine named MSNBC political correspondent Steve Kornacki in its annual list of the “Sexiest Men Alive,” citing his coverage of the 2020 election.

The magazine, which awarded this year's top honor to actor Michael B. Jordan, specifically pointed to Kornacki’s role in tabulating the vote as the count trickled in in the days following Nov. 3. Due largely to state laws around counting mail-in ballots before or after Election Day, networks did not project Joe Biden as president-elect until that Saturday.

“Never before have khakis and a striped tie gotten so many hot under the (Oxford) collar,” the magazine wrote of Kornacki’s distinctive outfit. “The MSNBC journalist's tireless coverage tracking the long post-election day vote tallying process earned him the title of ‘Chartthrob’ — with celebrity fans from Chrissy Teigen to Leslie Jones — and even caused a significant spike in Gap's khaki sales.”
