If you pee in the pool and I swim in it, the chlorine will neutralize most of the stuff in your urine that might harm me.

Conversely, if you don't wear a mask and infect me with Covid-19, I could die.

A better analogy would be this.

"Not wearing a mask is equivalent to having unprotected sex with a stranger."

You don't know if you have the virus or if the stranger has it. You know, like Russian Roulette.
