We are watching the looting of our democracy. What is being done to stop it?

Where is the fightback? Where is the effort to control the narrative? Where is the public information campaign to inform the American people what Trump is doing? How many millions more people are going to become uncertain that Joe won fairly, while Trump rubbishes the integrity of the votes? Now Trump is meeting Michigan lawmakers to give them their orders? When are the Biden campaign/Democratic lawmakers going to at least try to set the record straight in the eyes of America? We cannot just assume that Trump is going nowhere with this coup attempt. He is damaging us in the meantime. He will burn America to the ground if he is left unchecked.

Having said that, what could "democrats" be doing, those in power, that they arent?

It's almost as if Democrats can never quite find it in them to rise up together and let them know we're not gonna take it anymore. If the shoe was on the other foot the repubs would have run us out of the country by now.

and lawyers are not in Michigan? They live there. People believe whatever they want, and their is no Democrat talking on tv that could possibly 'set the record straight' any more than it already is. You can't argue with people who refuse to acknowledge facts. And if you can, have at it! None of this is the 'Democrats' fault. It's 'we the people' that ultimately vote for those who represent us. Who represents you? That's who you should be asking to fight for you

trying because the people who supported it wouldn't have listened. Our nation is being threatened in a way it has never been threatened.

their democracy, it's not like people weren't opposed, but they still couldn't stop it. And when it happens, it happens like an avalanche.

Thinking of:

Fujimori in Peru
Orban in Hungary
Poland
Moldova
Georgia
Almost Italy (Salvini)
Bolsonaro in Brazil
Some of the weird, disturbing shit that happened in Spain when Catalonia tried to declare independence.

Maybe Duterte (not sure if it fits) in the Philippines?

As some other posters have said, this is no joke. It happens very quickly. When Hitler made his moves to consolidate power, it was fast. You only have to alter a few things, and the rest falls into place, and then it's too late.

Trump's efforts are just a loud farce.

States are confirming totals, finding a few random explainable human errors (which is to be expected), and certifying results.

The electoral college will meet as scheduled, and Joe Biden will be sworn in on Jan 20th.

Trump has been ranting, raving, and filing lawsuits for two and a half weeks. He has accomplished nothing except wasting money and dividing his party. The system is functioning as it should, and we are methodically rolling towards Trump's last day in office, and there is absolutely nothing he can do about it.

let's go on about how terrible Dems are on this board, 3 weeks after a landslide victory.

Sure, that helps.
