Impossible to overstate how much GOP legislatures in MI/WI/PA damaged the democratic process by not allowing election officials to count mail ballots well before Election Day
They wanted to weaponize chaos & uncertainty & thats exactly what happened despite clear Biden victory

(2,007 posts)was the MSM's need to make/promote snap "calls".
By frustrating that, they whipped up even more hullabaloo and chaos that they could use.

(999 posts)Keeping the mail in ballots from being counted till Election Day creates the red mirage and then they use it to say that the election was stolen because Trump was ahead at first and then it shifted to Biden. Republicans are never short of devious schemes.

(9,257 posts)Because we only had absentee ballots that needed a reason (out of town etc.) This was the first year we had true, no-excuses mail in voting which proved extremely popular. Gov Wolf tried to get the counting to start early and the Rs said okay IF the drop boxes are removed - just when it was becoming obvious that the mail was being slowed down. Wolf said no deal.
Doesnt matter what they try, the mail-in ballots and the counting of them was perfectly legal.

(12,965 posts)That was indeed the intention, but the reality was that the good citizens of these states who worked on the election process handled the huge increase in absentee/by-mail ballots without a hitch.
The plot (so far has) failed. They have nothing to work with. The people voted, the ballots were counted.

(82,849 posts)The only chaos and uncertainty has been manufactured by the Trump campaign. The media have at long last broken the Trump spell and have been calling out the fabulist nature of Trump's tactics, so that's something to be grateful for.
