(14,723 posts)Ford pardoned Nixon for all crimes that he "has committed or may have committed or taken part in" before he was indicted for anything.
Trump will surely pardon his buddies and family, the only question now is, will he try to pardon himself, or will he resign at the 11th hour and get Pence to pardon him.

(20,584 posts)It seems like being a "man" has a completely different connotation than when I grew up. When I was young a "man" was honest, took care of his family, and was proud to be a decent member of society. It has a completely different connotation today. Today's "man" could just as well be a gun toting, ignorant cretin who thinks "might is right" and has no qualms about screwing over everyone in his path, just so he gets what he wants.
I still prefer the former, but it seems so many males in this era are content to take the easy way out and dwell in the latter. Of course they have negative role models like Trump, and countless right-wing misanthropes who hate everything under the sun to emulate. Role models certainly have changed since my youth.
