Carl Bernstein Naming and Shaming Republicans That Hate TrumpLast edited Fri Nov 20, 2020, 10:44 AM - Edit history (1)
They’ve personally told him or their aides have and he doesn’t think he betrayed any journalistic integrity by naming them...
Rubio, Markowski, Sasse, Collins, Tim Scott, Portman, Blunt, Alexander, Romney, Sasse, Corning, Burr, Thune, Brawn, Grassley. They were all happy to see him defeated as long as they could keep their majority. He said it on CNN just now

The rest of them go in the enabler pile, traitors all.

5. It's not shameful. It's shameful that they keep enabling
and defending that idiot and voting for his crazy and unqualified judges.
I’ve always thought that Tim Scott couldn’t stand him. But why support his agenda and not vote for impeachment? |

6. Bernstein doesn't think we (USA) can survive this hit.
He sounded very pessimistic. The absence of the republicans to stand up for the basic tenets of our constitution, the lack of necessity to defend our election process... he was very distraught.

10. Bernstein's an attention-seeking hack for cable media and
imo seriously lacking in both judgement and integrity. Calling out these betraying scumbags for what they are, though, is something journalists are supposed to do.

12. Are you sure we're talking about the same person?
You're saying Carl Bernstein is a cable media hack? REALLY?
The same Carl Bernstein that broke the Watergate story in conjunction with Bob Woodward is lacking in judgment and integrity? How, exactly, are you coming to that conclusion, because I don't see that at all? What am I missing? Not meaning to flame, by the way, I'm just honestly shocked and confused by this assessment. |

22. Well, hopefully I didn't hurt!
Lord knows I'm prone to the occasional mixup or confusion myself, I certainly don't know everything about Bernstein's history, and it's certainly easy enough to get public figures mixed up, so I bear no judgment.
I just honestly don't know whether Hortensis misspoke or I'm woefully misinformed. |

Last edited Fri Nov 20, 2020, 05:27 PM - Edit history (1) you did not hurt. Bernstein runs hot and cold. He cannot be trusted in my book as is the same with Joe and Mika who partied with trump in his mar-a-go estate while kissing his ass on camera. They cannot EVER be trusted. Now that the writing is on the wall for chump, people are suddenly waking up. BULLSHIT. The Bernstein, Joe and Mika, Collins crew et al. are now in CYA mode. That's all. And when President-elect Joe Biden and vice-President Kamala Harris are sworn in and begin to deal with trumps attempts to destabilize our system of governing we will see again just what kind of 'friends' they will be.
You are on the mark |

29. See this is where I'm getting confused.
I agree wholeheartedly about Joe and Mika, Collins, et al., but I'm not aware of Bernstein carrying water for tRump in anywhere near the same way. That's what drew my response, and has me confused as to why he's being lumped in with the aforementioned persons of obviously suspect repute.

31. Yup. The same. Not to compare him to that slough
to his right, and my exasperation with his attention seeking comments is showing, but he's overvalued.
The hack was a reference to his -- and Woodward's -- constant, egregious comparisons of Hillary and her emails to Nixon and Watergate back in 2015-16, earning them as many book-puffing appearances on cable political TV shows as they each cared to show up for. A lot. "Mother Jones: Bernstein is not the only person bringing up Watergate to describe Clinton. His partner-in-exposing-crime, Bob Woodward, is also fond of comparing Clinton to Nixon. Woodward, who appears often on Fox News shows to discuss Clinton’s recent travails—her appearance before the House Select Committee on Benghazi, controversial donations to the Clinton Foundation, the investigation into her use of a private email server as secretary of state, and her refusal to release transcripts of her Wall Street speeches—has on multiple occasions given into the temptation to talk about Watergate."
Temptation, hell. And "multiple occasions" was generally daily. MSNBC and CNN were trying to defeat HRC+her coattail-riders and keep Republicans in control, and both, Woodward especially -- who had a new book out, were able to boost both book sales and their own names by telling new generations what Watergate was and smearing it on Hillary. |

So cowards then. Hollow, power craving, cowards.
Trump is a loose cannon on the deck and these Republicans are content to let it roll around so long as they don't get hit. Fuck them, they are no better than Trump. |
