"It feels like my life has actually begun," Cooper told PEOPLE in June about entering parenthood.
"I sort of wonder, what was I waiting for? This is a new level of love," he continued. "It's unlike anything I've experienced, and yet it's also very familiar and incredibly special and intimate. It's really extraordinary."

(63,221 posts)I'm not a very maternal person, but I think it's charming how he has taken to fatherhood.

(28,898 posts)In my peds NP job, I often talk about how overwhelmingly emotional parenthood is, and how nothing can possibly prepare you for the depth of what you will experience. (Or for how tired you will feel, or how helpless sometimes, or frustrated, and all the rest of it -
Many years ago, I asked a young first time mom, whose little girl was 6 months old, how motherhood was turning out compared to what she had thought it would be like. She paused before answering, and then said, "I love my husband, of course - but this!"
Words are fairly inadequate for this life experience, but I think Anderson said it well.

(10,108 posts)I think since Anderson had his baby, he didn't know he could experience a love that a child can bring. I don't know that I've ever seen a prouder dad.....
