Replying to @AmerIndependent
Justifying Trump's refusal to concede the election he lost, Kayleigh McEnany complains about Democrats saying mean things about Trump in 2016-17, and falsely claims his transition was not orderly.

The American Independent
@AmerIndependent
Kayleigh McEnany claims Trump was never allowed a proper transition. But here's Donald Trump in his 2017 inaugural address saying he is "grateful" to the Obamas for "their gracious aid throughout this transition."

Biden had Pence in his office two days after the election. I think it was the same timing for Obama-Trump.

They decided to throw everything away including the documents related to pandemic response. Those plans were originally drafted in the George W. Bush administration, and further expanded upon in Obama's administration.

You’re jinxing me," Woodward quotes Trump as saying. "I don’t want a transition. I’m shutting down the transition. I told you from day one it was just an honorary title. You’re jinxing me. I’m not going to spend a second on it."

DT never gave a shit about doing a damn thing to create a coherent administration. Destroying the ability of executive agencies to implement and enforce law is as good as overturning the law.

What did he ever do that was successful and sustained, that wasn't handed to him?

He was such a good business person that his dad kept having to bail him out. He went bankrupt at least 4 times. He even sucked on the Apprentice. Trump is manufactured. He is a facade. That is under even the slightest scrutiny, he folds. As President of the US, you are under the most stress and the highest scrutiny.

He thought he would be able to spin it and make it into one of his "gold plated" joints, but you can't have the presidency ghost written.

From what I can see, I think he is programmed to fail. Any success has been extremely short lived and he turns around and does something that will guarantee failure. It is inconceivable that any person could fail at everything for over fifty years. No matter how much money he has, he will blow it and then go into debt. Reminds me of a compulsive gambler.

Fri Nov 20, 2020, 07:03 PM
Nov 2020

Likely from all his siblings, he was the under achiever, but apparently his dad Fred, made him the darling and fed him a diet of bullshit about how special he was.

So, given what we know about ignorance from the Dunning-Kruger effect, how he was told he was better than anybody even though I am absolutely positive that privately Fred Trump told Donald what a disappointment he was; it would definitely lead to someone who was both arrogant and insecure, who built a fantasy around himself and started to believe the hype. The thing is, at the end of the day, you can only lie to yourself so much. Trump suffers because he knows he is a loser, but he cannot admit that to himself, so he rages on and on.

52. Yes, I think that sums it up quite well

Though his father indulged him, he also undoubtedly made him feel inferior. It is odd that Fred favored the least intelligent of his children, though he might have been impressed with young Donald's ruthlessness.

Yes, Trump knows he is a loser and anything he does seems to reinforce that, while outwardly he keeps declaring himself a brilliant success. How different the world would be if a young Donald could have been allowed to fail and not be bailed out. Failure can be a great teacher.

I think you are right. Had a been allowed to experience reality, I think he would have been tempered. Maybe still a complete jerk, but not as dangerous as he is now.

I think that his other siblings were not attracted to the power as much as Donald was. There was a sort of rejection of Fred's meanness that kept the other brothers, who were smarter, away from following in Fred's footsteps. Donald loved the meanness and the power.

Mike Pence Takes Over Donald Trump’s Transition Team
He ousts Chris Christie to take over a team that also includes Trump’s children and a bevy of Washington insiders.

By Gabrielle Levy, Political Reporter?Nov. 11, 2016, at 3:14 p.m.

Vice President-elect Mike Pence is taking over as the chairman of the presidential transition team, accelerating what had been a sluggish effort in the wake of President-elect Donald Trump's surprise victory Tuesday. Pence will take over from embattled New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who has helmed the effort since Donald Trump became the presumptive nominee in May.

Christie will stay on as a vice chairman, joined by retired pediatric neurosurgeon and former presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala. as fellow vice chairs.

Trump's three children, Ivanka, Eric and Donald Jr., are also among those named to the transition's executive committee, as are his son-in-law Jared Kushner, several sitting members of Congress, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, former Goldman Sachs executive Steve Mnuchin, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus and tech billionaire Peter Thiel.

"Together this outstanding group of advisors, led by Vice President-elect Mike Pence, will build on the initial work done under the leadership of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to help prepare a transformative government ready to lead from day one," Trump said in a statement Friday. "The mission of our team will be clear: put together the most highly qualified group of successful leaders who will be able to implement our change agenda in Washington. Together, we will begin the urgent task of rebuilding this nation -- specifically jobs, security and opportunity. This team is going to get to work immediately to Make America Great Again."
