Democratic politicians who say they have Republican politician friends

I can imagine that decades ago, but it's incredibly hard to imagine more recently, and especially right now.

Seeing how craven Republicans have become, how willing they are to tear down our democracy and allow tens of thousands of deaths, all to serve Trump? All to avoid being primaried?

Do that many Democrats share the feeling that the worst possible thing in the world is to lose an election, so they somehow empathize with these bastards who'll do anything to cling to power?

How could you not relentlessly excoriate Republican "colleagues", and barely hold back from spitting in their faces, at every opportunity to speak with one of these sickening, self-serving cowards?

That might be true in some cases, but there also seem to be some pretty solid Democrats who, nevertheless, I've heard speak about having friendly relations with some elected Republicans.
