Why did the Michigan legislators stay at the Trump International Hotel?

Linda Case @lindacaseauthor 34m
Why did the #MichiganLegislators stay at the Trump International Hotel? If trump didn’t comp them, this is another investigation for @dananessel.

Did MI taxpayers foot this bill and put money directly into trump’s pocket for a meeting HE demanded. @LeeChatfield @SenMikeShirkey

These Michigan GOP legislators will ultimately go down as well.

This whole thing smells to high heaven. Totally unbelievable. And again - being done right in front of our eyes.

Jan 20, 2021 can't come fast enough.

I can hardly imagine being a voter in MI right now. Wouldn't it be infuriating to think they even thought about overturning our vote? And even some who voted for Dump might think so. A future D legislature could think of the same thing. I don't see why any of these state officials are even thinking of this - it could do nothing but make them go down in their state.

So they pulled a fast one on Trump, but by use of the taxpayers dime. They made him think they might do something for him in order to get wined and dined at his hotel.

Back in Jersey they call this a bribe, even if it doesn't get the result you wanted.

They give you white wine glasses to drink it out of?

Figures ... everything about Trump is lame, fake and cheesy.

after looking at the 2 pictures, it is a bottle of Dom.

Hope they paid for it out of their own pockets, otherwise...............

1) There's clearly a bottle of Dom on the table,
2) There does not appear to be a bottle of white wine on the table,
3) Multiple people have what appears to be white wine or champagne in white wine glasses on the table,
4) There are not any champagne glasses or flutes on the table

My conclusion from the totality was, I think logically (although of course other explanations are conceivable), that they were given White Wine glasses to drink Dom Perignon out of. Which is cheesy AF for a supposedly luxury place (or anyplace that actually serves Dom Perignon).

I agree the main problem is that they're there at all, but I'm not missing out on a chance to bash Trump's totally fake 'luxury' image

the hotel didn't sell the bubbly, but rather, they brought it in. Whether it was comped, or the nimrods bought it themselves is yet to be determined.

those guys said "he's nuts...we'll let things stand and drink some of his money for shits and giggles", they basically have created a public record of probable collusion and that will not play well with the residents of Wayne County...or the 80 million Biden voters.

Even though I view human nature as DEEPLY flawed on a myriad of levels, I still find it hard to grasp what sort of draw the Orange Menace has on so many people...especially those who trashed him in the past...and especially now that he's basically falling apart at the seams and can offer them nothing (unless his long shot coup actually happens).

"Say, why don't you all fly down here and have a little talk. You can stay at my place. And of course you'll steer the election in my favor..."

I want to know who paid for this junket. If the hotel was comped or significantly reduced, I'd call that bribery.
