Excellent and important Twitter thread about impact of beginning vaccines.

Last edited Sat Nov 21, 2020, 03:33 PM - Edit history (1)

He ends exactly how I feel about vaccines becoming available. "Let's not crash at the finish line."

I like the way he writes, and love the $750 jab!

Here's where you can read the thread without going to Twitter. https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1329979552135852032.html

ETA: I changed the headline as someone pointed out below the tweeter appears to be a comedian rather than a scientist involved in the vaccine development even though he claims to be involved in the thread. Consider me thoroughly confused now! But I still think he makes a lot of sense, so I'll leave this rather than delete.

This is a good article that explains the efficacy numbers. It's not a success rate. Pacifist Patriot Nov 2020 #8

thought it was kind of hinky that after moderna said they had a 94+% success rate and all of a sudden pfizer had a 95+% success rate. Honestly, I don't believe or trust any of them. More poison to soft kill us faster.

when the winner of the Boston Marathon and the 2nd place are 2 seconds apart? Both companies started working on vaccines at about the same time. The clinical trials started around the same time (I know, I was part of my research hospitals COVID-19 prioritization and activation committee). Enrollment rates were likely about the same between the two trials. Both companies have teams of excellent researchers and analysts. I'm not at all surprised that two likely very similar vaccines reported very similar success rates at about the same time.
