one of the reasons I will not put a sticker on my car. Another being that I paid a lot of money for my cars and will not put a cheap piece of sticky paper on it to ruin the finish.

He said even in the 50’s people used to do things to cars if they were against political opponents.

That said you should check into getting your car repainted completely. A few years back I had my car repainted and it cost me $700.

My dad said the same thing.
Back when I was quite young, even before my 11 year younger sister was born, we'd do family car vacations.
My dad carried a box of single edge razor blades, and a can of toluene in the trunk.
We got to Rushmore, or Wall Drug, or The Corn Palace, or Pikes Peak...and people were paid to put bumper stickers on the car.
As soon as we got back to the hotel, out would come the blade & solvent.
He wouldn't leave it there for more than a couple ours.

My car would be keyed in no time. Plus the police would do little. Recently someone vandalized a trumper’s car and stole their signs. Police were all over that because they’re trumpers also.

Right below my “Trump Sucks” sticker. Whatever. The sticker is still there, and Trump still sucks. I said I’d keep keep the sticker there until he either stopped being president or stopped sucking. We know he won’t stop sucking, but he’ll stop being president soon!

I don't put stickers on my car or signs in my yard. I'm deathly afraid of trumpers (and tea partiers before them). I think of this when they claim there is some phantom segment of the population who are afraid to tell pollsters they support Trump. I think they're loud and proud. It's liberals who have reason to fear.

I live in a super red area and I will not put any political bumper stickers on my car for any reason. And I just bought a new car too.

Though it's got to irk my MAGA neighbors that I bought a Subaru. Because they are a company that has committed to supporting progressive causes and they make it clear on their website that they do!

As much as I'd like to proudly declare my political and related support with bumper stickers and the like, I'll never do that again. I was freshly graduated, broke as hell and my insurance still left me paying for much of it.

I still have very hard feelings about someone doing that--over a damned football team symbol. I feel for your friend.

I'd had my minivan almost two weeks before I added my Obama stickers. Overnight someone keyed the van the length of both sides. There have been a few times when someone has left notes (unsigned, of course), and one time a trump sticker was placed over my Hillary sticker. They've gone out of their way to make sure I never meet them, which tells me just about everything I need to know about them. Now that the election is behind us I'll remove all but my Biden/Harris stickers. And I'll be adding this one:
