Does anybody know what is the order

For receiving the vaccine?

What about people who are middle age who have risk factors and or disabilities , like high blood pressure or diabeties or heart problems or psych problems or other types of disabilities that make a covid infection very risky ? When can they start getting it and in what order?

I don't think outpatient health problems is something that can screen for to determine priority...It is possible to screen by age, but have no idea if they will.

Celebrities as well will manage to get the vaccine before any “average” person does.

After that, I will listen to the scientists on the best way to maximize the vaccine effectiveness.

I'm sick of the poor being last for everything.

Fucking classist bullshit.

People too often are oblivious to how the poor and homeless are treated in this country. Its like we don't exist, when it comes to getting help, especially financial help.

Poor/homeless people have been
Scapegoated enough by the comfortable.

We are the ones who have to do the labor usually in close proximity with others making us higher risk for everybody else.

Well, of course unless you are a well to do asshole repuke who freely and knowingly spread the COVID.

7. How about caregivers for the elderly?

Mom is 90. I take care of her part of the time and we hire a neighbor to help, too. Neighbor is wonderful with mom, only one she trusts, but not too good about keeping a mask on. I'd like to see us both get the vaccine.

8. First Responders and hospital/nursing home workers are first. In December?

Two doses are needed, one month apart. So when they give all the nurses etc their two doses,

then, front line workers are next (I think) grocery store/ppl who have to be out to serve others.
Then, high risk ppl, underlying conditions, the very old.

I heard the rationale of this triage of vaccine on TWIV (This Week In Virology) They are virologists/ scientists/doctors guessing at the order.

Who knows how long it all will take? Depends on the distribution, and red tape. Probably six months? for us old, high risk ppl to see that needle. I hope less, but doubt it.

or should be. I know that I personally should be at the very back of the line. I'm a senior, in excellent health, live alone, have zero disabilities. Most of you reading this should be ahead of me in line. And that's more than okay. I'm happy to be behind all of you for the vaccine.

I suppose it is more to the point that those who genuinely need the vaccine get it first.

In the late 90’s there was a year with a severe shortage of the flu shots.
Our priority was front line healthcare workers, then nursing homes.
After that it was pretty much Doctor prescribed for those most at risk. If I remember correctly that included the elderly, and those with the most severe co morbiditys.
