(156,596 posts)I have always admired their corporate tactics.
Dumping buckets full of illegally dumped materials from big corporations always made me laugh! Right onto their shiny stone corporate lobby floors at that!
And thank you, my dear Nevilledog, for posting this.

(26,795 posts)Was going thru a couple of boxes the other day..trying to organize with the time I have now..and came across one of my stickers for Greenpeace from 1989. I still have my hat, too. Maybe an omen to donate after so long.

(22,236 posts)I've been a huge fan of Greenpeace for many years because of their courageous efforts on behalf of wildlife and the environment.

(55,106 posts)and I got really happy for a split second. The banner is great but sort of a let down after I re-read the OP correctly.
The fucking moron shreds the Paris Climate Accord just now at the G20 in a virtual speech.

May 5th, 2017: Greenpeace unfurls anti-Le Pen resist banner on Eiffel Tower
The banner said something different but it resembles the Trump banner.

(41,526 posts)My guess is, no permission was given.
In other words, it went up for the picture and came back down rather quickly.

(37,748 posts)I'd stood in opposition to their policy before that, but freedom Fries was my first real "what the f*ck? Are they children" moment. Ah, good times, good times.

(23,314 posts)At the time I lived in Orange County, CA - a then bright-red Orange County (except the Hispanic areas in and around Santa Ana).
The amount of chest-thumping and flag-waving in the months leading up to the invasion became almost Nurnberg rally-esque. I can tell you for a fact that the local GOPee was hiring blond, blue-eyed youths to go around and give out Bush/Cheney and Support the Troops paraphernalia.
Then the war started, and the boys started coming back maimed, blind, with PTSD and addictions. And before you knew it, the Bush collapse.
Homes worth $1 million would suddenly be worth $500,000 overnight ('08 or so). Foreclosure/short sale signs all over.
Orange County hasn't been that Republican since (though they're still a big problem).
